We are a very traditional church. Will Big City Studio work for us?
Probably not. Big City Studio was written for churches who want something that
goes beyond the typical children's church program.
Can any size church use Big City Studio?
Yes. All group sizes enjoy the interactive elements within Big City Studio.
What is the minimum number of workers it takes to
run Big City Studio?
Two, the Director and Haywood.
If I use Big City Studio on Sunday morning what
should I do for a mid-week program?
You can record video footage on
Sunday morning and show it in the mid-week service. It can serve as a fun review
time. Kids love to see themselves on a screen or TV. Or you can use a completely
separate program such as Adventure Bay.
If I use some other program on Sunday morning can
this be used as a mid-week program?
Yes.
When should I start Big City Studio?
Anytime you want. It will work whenever you start it.
Will this work if I have to set up each week?
Yes. We know that lots of churches use a multi-purpose room. Because of
the studio theme, Big City Studio is one of the easiest programs to set up and
tear down.
Can I stop for a period of time and then continue
again?
Yes. Some churches take off for the summer or the holidays and then continue Big
City where they left off.
Can we break into small groups?
Yes. One
option is to teach the lesson and prayer portion in the small group and do
everything else in the large group. Small icons in the lessons indicate which
segments can effectively be used in small groups.
After I purchase Big City Studio, how much time
will it take me to set up the program?
Allow enough time to recruit
people to play Haywood, Heather DeShay and Joe Nitro. Also allow time to
decorate your room if desired.
How much preparation time will this take each
week?
Approximately twenty minutes if you have read the Director's Guide.
Can I photocopy lessons to give to my workers?
Yes, we recommend it.
The license included in the gear gives you the authority to do that.
What if I can't find people to play the
characters? Do I have to do the skits?
No, the skits are optional. But it is easier than you
might think to get people to play these roles. You can use people from the adult
service because they only have to be in children's church for five minutes. Then
they can return to the adult service.
Can we buy just the quarters of curriculum
without the Gear?
Yes, you can buy it with or without the gear. There are several ways you can buy
Big City Studio.
What denomination is this curriculum written for?
Over forty denominations use some type of Kidz Blitz curriculum. We are a
non-denominational ministry. Kidz Blitz employees attend churches from a variety
of denominations.
How long does each class/service last?
One
to two hours. It depends on how long your praise and worship lasts and how
much time you spend in review.
What do we do if we only have one hour?
You have several options. You can omit Z Street
Live and only do it periodically. You can do the "Play Back" review
and/or Z Street Live during your mid-week
program. You can even spread one lesson over two weeks, although you will fall
behind schedule.
Can we use Big City Studio in Sunday School?
Yes. Many churches use the lesson in Sunday School and the rest of the program
in children's church.
How much will it cost to decorate the room?
Just the price of paint. Our decor kit is easy to use. It will enable you
to do a full scale background.
Will more worship music be available?
Yes.
Can I use the logo and call my children's
ministry "Big City Studio"?
Yes. The Gear includes a license that covers
any kind of duplication for use within your church. We give you the graphic
files on a disk. You can make t-shirts, banners, etc. One church even put the
logo on their van.
How much does it cost for extra props?
We
are not sure yet. We are working on making extra props available on the web site
(www.bigcitystudio.com).
Can I use different people to play the same
roles?
Yes. But you should use different names. Some kids get confused if
different people play a character with the same name. Example: You can have
another spoiled actress named "Chloe."
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. If Big City
is not right for you, just send it back within 30 days for a full refund.
How many years of curriculum will you publish?
Big City Studio will be a five-year program when it is complete.
